it just has something about Kaidan and Shepard's relationship, about trust and Shepard being able to relax when he knows Kaidan got his back
some people might throw in Horizon, but as p*ssed off as I was at the whole Horizon situation, Kaidan got a point, you know.
When I played through the first time I did get doubts about Cerberus and what if Shepard had been set up, trying to remember all the things I played through ...
My main grudge concerning Horizon isn't that the VS wouldn't just quit whatever they're doing and run after Shepard, but that you can't make Shepard say the things you really want to say or have a proper end to that situation ...
well, enough about Horizon ... I hope we can get the VS's trust back in ME3, I don't want instant-trust, I want to re-earn it ... and I want Shepard to be able to apologize ... well, or be a dick about it and demand an apology from the VS for another playthrough ...

I get many and conflicting feelings when playing ACR, but I just keep feeling sad for Ezio ...
when you climb around and people usually were like 'oh he'll break something!' or 'is he drunk?!' now it's often comments on what a trick it is and that it's entertaining ...

makes it feel like Ezio is some old circus animal that does it's one trick over and over again, no matter how old and broken it got over time

probably should have added a sign with "will kill templars for Akce" or "will do leap of faith for money" or something ...

and who's stupid idea was it to change the looks of everyone?! Ezio reminds me of Ceasar from Rise of the Planet of the Apes o_O

4. Favorite Love Interest

It was a tie between Alistair for DAO romances and Anders for DA2 romances;
I had already talked a bit about Anders as a romance option previously, also I don't want to neglect DAO. Just because I prefer certain aspects of DA2 doesn't mean I don't like DAO.

I should point out that I needed the 'equal love' mod to even get Alistair as a romance option, because for DA and ME I just prefer playing as a dude (for DA2 and ME I also blame the voice acting, I just prefer the guys there)

Alistair has ridiculous hair, likes cheese *würg* and if Morrigan would take over the list could go on endlessly, so what makes me like him?
It's the cute, awkward stumbling over his own words-romance and insecurity and in part I like that he's so simple, but honest and kind-hearted.
And I have take-care-of-someone-issues when it comes to computer-games-romances *shrug*

Also, I skipped yesterdays challenge about least favourite characters.
That was an odd one: I felt like there are so many characters in Thedas that I don't like that it was hard to choose. Yet I understand why so many of them are the way they are or why they were doing the things they were doing that I can't really considered them 'least favourite' just 'someone I'd like to punch in the face regardless of understanding their reasons'

Besides I wasn't in the mood to draw a character I don't like ... and I had already drawn Ser Otto ... <_<

2. Favorite character

I was tempted to name Hawke ...
my default-looking, anders-romancing, witty, mage Hawke with the pro-mage attitude ...
but in order to make a point here and while risking to be shunned by the majority of the DA2-fans, I'm going with Anders.
"But Criz, surely you meant that you liked DAO-A Anders and were as appalled as we all were at what BioWare did to his character in DA2?"
Yes and no. When I first heard about it prior to DA2's release, yes I was appalled, mainly because I don't like Justice (didn't like the corpse look in DAO-A), but I actually like Anders from DA2.

Did I like Anders in DAO-A? Yes, I did; quite a lot actually. And I was torn between hoping he would be romancable and being glad he wasn't romancable because then my Warden would have betrayed Alistair, and I really didn't want to do this ... but who could resists this adorable little rebel mage, who keeps running away from the Circle no matter what the Templars do to him once they catch him again and again and again.
Also, he likes kittens, how can you not like someone who likes kittens?

Along comes DA2 and we learn that Anders has changed ... significantly, and yet there are still remants of the happy mage rebel. Justice has changed Anders and Anders has changed Justice. If I'd venture far beyond the Kaidan thread on BSN I'd probably read up on what the Justice fans think of Anders in DA2. They both play their part in this and it would be unfair to blame the transformation into Vengeance on just one of them.
Running away from the Circle even if it meant punishment once caught speaks of Anders' determination to do what he deems necessary regardless of the consequences. Anders and Justice fuel one another when it comes to their fight for mages and against the injustice they face, going to Kirkwall where things are worse than usual, probably didn't help. I certainly don't approve of their methods. I don't support blowing up the Chantry and killing innocents, with the goal of starting a war between Templars and mages and thus end the way things have been since Ages.
But Maker help me, my Hawke has fallen in love with Anders and there's no turning back. He couldn't bring himself to just end Anders life. And he couldn't just send him off, knowing people are out for his blood now.
He doesn't support blowing up the Chantry either, but he'll still do everything to keep Anders safe.
I'd certainly not want a romance like this in RL, but for an RPG, I absolutely love it. I might be masochistic in that regard, but I actually like Anders - and what happened to him - because of how bad I felt for him. Originally, right from the start I was waiting for the moment where you as the player could 'set things right again'. So, as soon as there was mention of going into the fade for Feynriel's quest, I dragged Anders along to make sure Justice can go home and Anders will be his old self again. I just take him along and Justice is left behind, right, BioWare? ... kinda like when you nurse a hurt animal back to health and then release them into the wild again. But it didn't work out ...
Instead Justice got really mad at Hawke trying to trick a demon ... apparently Justice later learned the advantages of deceit, because after Hawke happily goes along collecting shit crystals, they're used to blow up the Chantry.

I know a lot of people aren't happy with Anders in DA2, and I can understand why. But I'd rather have it this way, than live in an alternate universe where BioWare just made DA2 soft and cuddly (oh scratch that, there are soft and cuddly, and warm and fuzzy moments in DA2, but you know what I mean) and be accused of not having the balls to do something controversal

1. Favorite Dragon Age game (ie: Origins, Awakening, Dragon Age 2)

without much blabla, I simply like the DA-verse, but when comparing DAO and DA2 - and Awakening to me is just a part of DAO - I prefer DA2
I know this'll be a slap in the face of the "oh noes the protagonists speaks, I can't emerge myself in the game anymore" people, but to me a voiced main character just adds a lot more to a game than it takes away, especially with such a nice voice as Hawke's
and while we're at it, I much prefer Meer's mShep to Hale's femShep ... hate me if you must, but if you're still here, after I mentioned I prefer DA2, you can probably deal with this, too, or you just don't care
I know the story isn't as epic and for some people there simply were too many changes, but it works well for what I want from a game and for how I play games *shrug*
The only thing that bothers me is the feeling that things were rushed and there were things that could have been improved if the game had been given more time.

I was afraid that the way I draw their relationship (my 'head canon') sometimes it would appear that Kaidan is the 'woman', which is something I wouldn't want ... I want them both to be guys and in a relationship, that's all ... true enough I think Shepard would save the galaxy while Kaidan watches his back etc. but on a whole I wouldn't attribute the 'taking care of'/maternal thing to Kaidan alone.
So, either I could draw a super-actiony piece where Kaidan displays Sentinel bad-assery and saves Shepard or show Shepard's caring side

also, while I use the Sheploo appearance, this ^ Shepard is closer to 'my' Shepard than the default one. Suffice it to say, he's a Vanguard and Spacer.
Spacers get the chance to talk to their mom during ME1, which I just found cute, especially if you pick the renegade option at some point, it ... she's just mom-ly, anyway, I guess since her boy (or girl if you play as femShep) is a biotic and they need food with lots of calories, I bet she developed special recipes over time and probably taught Shep some of them ...

in my ... it's called 'head canon', right? ... Shepard is the one saving the galaxy and Kaidan is the one saving Shepard, supporting him ... and if necessary carrying him back to bed because he fell asleep after they talked for hours ... ^_^

my apologies about the slightly belated post, it took longer to finish then I thought

it's kind of ... a turian Gordon Freeman ... Gorrdos Vrikarian?!
I used the same turian drawing as base for this as I use for the concept art of MEC, it's the one in the ME artbook
and I took quite some liberties when changing Freeman's armor into a turian one ...

well, urm yeah, so according to Casey Hudson's tweet we will get same-sex relationships in ME3, though there are no new love interests, which hopefully leads to this:
I took the liberty to quote from Dragon Age 2 here (Anders/dudeHawke romance, what else ^_~ ; actually I don't know the dialog for femHawke, is it the same?!)
or maybe I should have used another (altered) quote?

I begin to understand why Justice is against their relationship XD

and I just saw a video of the rivalmance with Anders, one of the later parts ... o_O I need to pursue this next time, or rather I have to re-load a save and make sure I can get that in my current playthrough ... after prototype is done and some ME ^_~

oh and for the non-gamers: it's referring to a famous line in Mass Effect 2 when endorsing a shop to get a discount:
"I'm Commander Shepard and this is my favourite store on the Citadel"

felt crappy, so either I could draw something to reflect that mood or try and cheer myself up by drawing the most ridiculous thing that came to mind (and was still ME themed to fit this week's theme)

I actually like that Shepard can't dance... makes him more human imho, like 'witty' Hawke's lines that most of the population of Kirkwall doesn't get XD

and of course there's some anachronism as it's the dancing style from ME1 but the armor from ME2... but we just pretend no one noticed <_<
